Access
We want everyone to be able to access great arts and creative activities.
Physical Access
Our entrance is fully accessible and we have a lift which can carry passengers to all floors of the building. There are ramps on the ground floor, The Mezz and The Theatre and all doorways are all suitable for wheelchair entrance, there is a wider toilet booth on the first floor and a disabled toilet next to The Theatre.
There are on-street disabled parking bays outside. A member of our Front of House crew will be able to support you in accessing the lift on arrival at the venue.
The building is large and complex and so if you have any access needs, please do mention this when booking so that we might develop a plan together in case of an emergency evacuation situation.
We believe that all performances should be relaxed performances and should be accessible to all. Therefore you can sit or stand wherever you choose and should feel free to experience any productions in your own terms – there may be some restrictions in relation to the show that is playing (for example entrances/exits/lighting) but we want everyone to be able to make the choice of location that is right for them. If you have any concerns, please do book in for a pre-show familiarisation visit with one of our Front of House crew.
If you have any specific access needs that you would like to talk through in advance of visiting the building, please do either call us on 01253 834175 or email info@theoldelectric.co.uk
We would welcome any feedback you have about how we can improve our facilities forepeople with physical access needs.
