A monthly online and in-person group aimed at people who are interested in writing for the stage and who want to be involved in creating new writing for stages in Blackpool.
Each month we will read aloud new work submitted by members of this group. A peer-supported group for writers who have ideas, scenes or whole plays they have developed; a safe environment for sharing ideas, feedback and constructive support.
We need readers as well as writers so you don’t need to have your own work in progress to join. You also don’t need to attend every month but it is encouraged to come along more than just when you want your scene read!
At each session, we will take part in short creative writing activities designed to trial new ways of connecting with ideas and to hear from professional playwrights to keep us inspired.
Sessions take place on Monday evenings 6-8pm on a monthly basis in-person and via Zoom and are free to attend; registration in advance is necessary.
This activity supports our annual 12-week online and in-person playwriting course which will start in January 2022 and our bigger picture hope that we can host more regular stagings of writing that has been created in the town; as scratch pieces, stand alone productions or as festivals of new work.

Sessions are hosted by TESP Artistic Director Melanie Whitehead.
