Scratch Play Scene Readings
15 July at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join us for an evening of new writing. Where local actors will bring to life some of the characters and stories of new writers’ work in a seated scene reading.
All script writers have taken part in a 12-week play writing course which follows the framework of National Theatre’s programme for emerging playwrights; New Views. Each week participants have taken part in discussions, writing exercises, script readings and heard insights from today’s most influential professional playwrights to support them in creating their own original plays.
Throughout the day, each scene has had 1.5hours of workshopping with the actors and a director. At this event you are invited to be a supportive audience and critical friend for our new playwrights as they work out what the next stages for this piece might be; we hope to support some in bringing their writing to life in full in the future.
