A one off workshop which will look at how to use poetry as a powerful form of story telling. Here, a number of creative tools which will not only unlock the stories you want to tell, but how to write with rhyme and rhythm, build engaging narratives whilst using metaphors and symbols to keep the audience interested and entertained. There will also be a performance aspect of the workshop, where the participants will bring their work to life, and develop crucial skills in how to hold space on stage.

About Rory Aaron

Born in Derby but based in Manchester, Rory moves between the worlds of poetry, music and theatre. An experienced creative facilitator, educator and youth worker, Rory was a part of the BBC New Creatives scheme in 2020, and has showcased his work with organisations such as MIF, Young Identity and Apples and Snakes . Rory has published his first collection with Bearded Badger press, and his second with Verve Press in April 2023. His first two person play ‘This Town’ debuted at Contact & Derby Theatre in March 2023, and has been commissioned by The Pleasance and Curve Theatre for this years Edinburgh Fringe.
