The origin story of Britain; founded by Brutus, is well known. But there is an earlier, alternative female-born story.

In this pre-show talk hosted by Reclaim Blackpool, we will explore the modern day parallels of representation of women in mythology and how the experiences of today’s Blackpool women have informed this performance based on myths from the past.

About Reclaim Blackpool

Reclaim Blackpool is a project mapping instances of sexual harassment in public places in Blackpool. A physical map of stories (reclaimblackpoolmap.co.uk) serves as a strong visual reminder of the threats of violence women face every day. Reclaim Blackpool also holds physical space for women – in a monthly women’s group and with a programme of community events. The project aims to empower, educate and effect change.
