A Poet In Every Port
Event details
26 July at 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
We’ve partnered up with Southbank Centre for A Poet In Every Port. Inspired by the spirit of the Festival of Britain in 1951, the National Poetry Library is going on tour, stopping at 11 coastal locations to celebrate 75 years of the Southbank Centre. The Mobile Poetry Van will be in Blackpool on 25 and 26 July 2026!
On Sunday, By the Meter is back for a day of music and poetry at Bootleg Social and Stanley Park. Curated and hosted by local poet Rob Mason, in collaboration with The Old Electric and Southbank Centre as part of A Poet in Every Port. We welcome you to join us to celebrate local voices together in the park on a Sunday summer afternoon, ending with a morris dancing rave tune from the newly formed Davey Jones Locker Knockers!
