Fancy a Turn?

Monday 2 – Saturday 7 September

Ever fancied dipping your toe into the exciting world of cabaret? Perhaps you wanna create a brand new piece of short form performance?

Well we’ve absolutely got you covered, babes! Here is your chance to get involved as we present Fancy A Turn? A week long development opportunity from two award winning show offs, Scottee and Harry Clayton-Wright.

Fancy A Turn? is brand new performance course from two artists who started their illustrious careers in seedy clubs and pubs, making cabaret and short form performance as a way of experimenting and finding their voices. You’ll spend seven days working on an idea to bring to life (something new, or bring something existing), which will be presented at our scratch night, The Fancy A Turn Showcase Revue.

Apply before the 24th June, 2024. Ten spots available on the course. Applicants will be notified by 8th July

Our space

We have a building and some technical facilities, a small staff team and a pool of enthusiastic and knowledgable volunteers plus a huge ambition to ensure this venue is open, accessible and available to all who want/need it.

We are keen to discuss how this could work for the professional or emerging artist sector on the Fylde Coast whether that is 1:1 support with an idea and/or funding application, using our facilities as match-funding in an application, finding inspiration from a new network of colleagues, taking over a section of the building in a residency, trailing a project as part of some R&D activity to gain feedback or hiring our spaces to provide your own activity – we want to talk to you!
