Casting Call: Performers for filmed theatre/movement piece

‘Lived Experience’ has been commissioned by Blackpool Fulfilling Lives (We Are With You) to celebrate the culmination of their 7-years work in the town, supporting people with complex social needs. Initially designed as a live performance event, the piece will now be filmed and edited to be an online asset which will be no longer than 20-minutes in length.

Based on client and staff’s actual experiences and words, the piece has been developed and will be directed by Melanie Whitehead (Artistic Director, The Electric Sunshine Project) in collaboration with Aishley Docherty as choreographer (Creative Director, House of Wingz) and with a score created by Sound Artist Rachel Cullen.

We have 4 adult roles: 2 female, 2 male, all aged 25+

Performers needed for Scratch Script Reading events

As our script-writers confidence develops and more plays are produced by local writers, we need performers who can come in confidence to a rehearsal process to explore new texts, give supportive feedback to writers and to read through in front of audiences with a variety of different approaches from seated to staged.

Our next play-reading workshop is on Monday 29 March in our Theatre. We are looking for performers who can commit all or part of the day to take part in this workshop and reading event. This is great experience for emerging performers who are looking to develop their range and professional rehearsal experience.

Our space

We have a building and some technical facilities, a small staff team and a pool of enthusiastic and knowledgable volunteers plus a huge ambition to ensure this venue is open, accessible and available to all who want/need it.

We are keen to discuss how this could work for the professional or emerging artist sector on the Fylde Coast whether that is 1:1 support with an idea and/or funding application, using our facilities as match-funding in an application, finding inspiration from a new network of colleagues, taking over a section of the building in a residency, trailing a project as part of some R&D activity to gain feedback or hiring our spaces to provide your own activity – we want to talk to you!
